In certain circumstances and on the basis of a report issued by the medical committee, this period may be extended to nine months.
وللمرأة الحامل إجازة حمل وولادة قبل الوضع وبعده مدتها 72 يوماً وبراتب تام، ويجوز للأم الموظفة التمتع بإجازة الأمومة الخاصة والبالغة (6) أشهر وبراتب تام وتعتبر هذه الإجازة خدمة لأغراض التقاعد، وفي حالات معينة وبموجب تقرير صادر عن اللجنة الطبية يجوز أن تمدد هذه المدة إلى (9) أشهر.

In the case of self-employed women, article 25 of Social Security Act No. 13 of 1980 stipulates: " A self-employed woman shall be entitled to payment of 100 per cent of her hypothetical income for a period totalling three months before and after confinement. "
