Mr. Myung-Chul HAHM (Republic of Korea) referred to the report of the Secretary-General on progress at mid-decade on implementation of General Assembly resolution 45/217 (A/51/256), and noted, in particular, the observation that the World Summit for Children had marked the first time that specific, measurable and time-bound goals had been established within the framework of an international conference.
٢٧ - السيد ميونغ ـ شول هاهم )جمهورية كوريا(: أشار الى تقرير اﻷمين العام عن التقدم في منتصف العقد في تنفيذ قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٥/٢١٧ (A/51/256)، وأشار، بوجه خاص، الى ملاحظة أن مؤتمر القمة العالمي من أجل الطفل كان أول مناسبة تقررت فيها أهداف دقيقة قابلة للقياس ومحددة زمنيا ضمن إطار مؤتمر دولي.

23. Turning to the report of the Secretary-General on Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs and the Repertoire of the Practice of the Security Council (A/54/363), he noted that those publications were potentially very useful, not only for delegations but also for the public in general.
٢٣ - وتطرق الى تقرير اﻷمين العام عن مرجع ممارسات هيئات اﻷمم المتحدة ومرجع ممارسات مجلس اﻷمن (A/54/363)، فأشار الى أن هذين المنشورين يمكن أن يكونا مفيدين جدا، لا للوفود وحدها بل للجمهور بوجه عام أيضا.

Mr. HAMBURGER (Netherlands) drew attention to the report of the Secretary-General on the work of the Organization (A/51/1, paras. 758 and 759), in which the Secretary-General reported on the serious and useful dialogue which had taken place in recent months on the status of East Timor.

Referring to the report of the Secretary-General on entitlements of staff assigned to peacekeeping missions, including mission subsistence allowance (A/50/797), he said that the Secretariat had provided additional information on gratis military officers in an informal note which had been circulated to members.

Referring to the Secretary-General's report on the United Nations Regional Centres for peace, disarmament and development, my delegation expresses its deep regret that, at a time when the importance of regional approaches is increasingly recognized, these Centres will be closed because of the inadequacy of financial resources.
وبالاشارة الى تقرير اﻷمين العام عن مراكز اﻷمم المتحدة الاقليمية للسلم ونزع السلاح والتنمية، يود وفد بلدي أن يعرب عن أسفه العميق ﻷن هذه المراكز، في الوقت الذي يسلم فيه على نحو متزايد بأهمية النهج الاقليمية، يزمع اغلاقها بسبب عدم كفاية الموارد المالية.
