Following Egypt's accession to the Convention on the Rights of the Child the legislature enacted a special law on children covering, in an integrated manner, all aspects of health, social, cultural and educational welfare and rights of children as well as the status of children under criminal law.

Following Egypt's accession to the Convention and its publication within the country, the obligations of the State party and its competent authorities under the provisions of this article became legally binding obligations which the authorities must honour and anyone who suffers detriment as a result of any decisions taken in violation of the provisions of this article has the right to apply to the courts to enforce his rights thereunder.
53- إن الالتزامات الناشئة عن أحكام هذه المادة والموجهة إلى الدولة الطرف والسلطات المختصة بها تعد بعد انضمام مصر للاتفاقية ونشرها بالبلاد التزامات قانونية تلتزم بها السلطات ولا يجوز لها مخالفتها ويجوز للمضرور من أية قرارات تخالف أحكام هذه المادة اللجوء إلى القضاء للمطالبة بحقوقه الناشئة عنها.

Discrimination is prohibited under all these instruments, and following Egypt's accession to them, they are deemed to constitute part of Egyptian law. Their provisions are enforceable before all authorities in the State, as indicated earlier in this report (see part I, paragraph 2 above).
وجميع هذه المواثيق تحظر التفرقة والتمييز وتُعَد بعد انضمام مصر إليها قوانين مصرية معمولاً بها أمام جميع السلطات بالدولة على نحو ما سلفت الإشارة إليه (انظر الفقرة 2 من الجزء الأول أعلاه).

95. In accordance with the practice described earlier, the Convention forming the subject of the present report was published in the Official Gazette on completion of the procedures for Egypt's accession thereto. An Arabic language publication, the Official Gazette contains all of the country's laws and presidential decrees, in addition to international instruments.
95- حسبما سلفت الإشارة إليه، فإنه بإتمام إجراءات التصديق على انضمام مصر إلى الاتفاقية محل التقرير الماثل فقد تم نشرها بالجريدة الرسمية للبلاد والتي تصدر باللغة العربية متضمنة كافة القوانين والقرارات الجمهورية والاتفاقيات الدولية.

229. The Suppression of Prostitution Act, No. 10 of 1961, adopted after Egypt acceded to the Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others, in 1953, renders anyone who engages in prostitution, whatever their age, liable to one to three years' imprisonment. The penalty increases to a maximum of five years if the victim is under 21.
229- جرم القانون رقم 10/1961 في شأن مكافحة الدعارة والذي جاء نتيجة انضمام مصر للاتفاقية الدولية لمكافحة الدعارة سنة 1953، جرائم البغاء دون تحديد سن معينة " المواد من 1 إلى 9 " وفرض عقوبة لا تقل عن سنة ولا تزيد على 3 سنوات، وقد شددت العقوبة إلى 5 سنوات كحد أقصى إذا كان من وقعت عليه الجريمة لم يتم الحادية والعشرين من عمره.

159. 30. In the context of the Covenant, it is also noteworthy that Egypt has acceded to a substantial number of ILO conventions setting international labour standards, as well as Arab labour agreements concluded under the aegis of the League of Arab States.
30- كما يشار في إطار موضوع العهد إلى انضمام مصر لعدد كبير من اتفاقيات منظمة العمل الدولية والتي تنظم معايير العمل الدولية، وكذلك اتفاقيات العمل العربية في إطار جامعة الدول العربية.

- The accession of Egypt and all States of the Middle East to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the placing of their nuclear facilities under the comprehensive IAEA safeguards system, with the exception of Israel;
