The Secretary-General, in his report entitled " New dimensions of arms regulation and disarmament in the post-cold-war era " (A/C.1/47/7), referred to the need for significant advances in the reduction and limitation of armaments in order to initiate the conversion from military to civilian production.
٣ - وقد قدم اﻷمين العام تقريرا بعنوان " اﻷبعاد الجديدة لتنظيم اﻷسلحة ونزع السلاح في فترة ما بعد الحرب الباردة " (A/C.1/47/7)، أشار فيه الى الحاجة الى تحقيق تقدم ملحوظ في الحد من اﻷسلحة وتحديدها للبدء في التحول من الانتاج العسكري الى الانتاج المدني.

As represented by two seminal reports of the Secretary-General, the report entitled " An Agenda for Peace " (A/47/277-S/24111) and the report entitled " New dimensions of arms regulation and disarmament in the post-cold war era " (A/C.1/47/7) - the process of controlling arms and its concomitant verification dimension are increasingly seen in the broader context of their contribution to international peace and security.
