٨٥٤ - وفي ٢٣ أيلول/سبتمبر عيﱠنت السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي بوصفه مبعوثي الخاص الجديد الى هايتي ليحل محل السيد دانتي كابوتو، الذي تلقيت استقالته بأسف قبل ذلك بأربعة أيام.

Following consultations with Mr. Abdel-Aziz Abdelghani, member of the Presidential Council of the Republic of Yemen, Mr. Abdel-Aziz Aldali, Special Envoy of H.E. Mr. Ali Salem al-Baidh, and the Government of Algeria I have decided to appoint H.E. Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi as my Special Envoy to Yemen.
وعقب إجراء مشاورات مع السيد عبد العزيز عبد الغني، عضو مجلس رئاسة الجمهورية اليمنية، والسيد عبد العزيز الدالي، المبعوث الخاص لسعادة السيد على سالم البيض، ومع حكومة الجزائر، قررت تعيين سعادة السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي ليكون مبعوثي الخاص الى اليمن.

With regard to the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General to investigate the facts in the Republic of Yemen, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, we shall welcome his arrival in the capital, Sana'a, at such time as he deems appropriate. We express our confidence in his capability, wisdom and lengthy experience and shall provide him with all the facilities necessary for the success of his mission.
أما بالنسبة لموفد اﻷمين العام لتقصي الحقائق في الجمهورية اليمنية السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي فاننا نرحب بقدومه الى العاصمة صنعاء في الوقت الذي يراه مناسبا، ونعرب عن ثقتنا في كفاءته، وحكمته، وخبرته الطويلة، وسوف نقدم له كل التسهيلات اللازمة لنجاح مهمته.

55. In concluding this first report on UNMIH, I should like to commend my Special Representative, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, for his willing acceptance of his complex responsibilities.
٥٥ - وختاما لهذا التقرير اﻷول عن بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة في هايتي لا بد لي أن أثني على ممثلي الخاص السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي لقبوله عن طيب خاطر الاضطلاع بمسؤولياته المعقدة.

3. On 3 June 1994, I informed the President of the Security Council that I had decided to appoint Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi as my Special Envoy and Head of the fact-finding mission to Yemen (S/1994/664).
٣ - وفي ٣ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٤، أبلغت رئيس مجلس اﻷمن بأني قررت تعيين السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي مبعوثا خاصا لي ورئيسا لبعثة تقصي الحقائق الى اليمن (S/1994/664).

Letter dated 2 June (S/1994/664) from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council, stating that, pursuant to paragraph 4 of Security Council resolution 924 (1994) he had decided to appoint Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi as his Special Envoy to Yemen and he would lead the fact-finding team to the area.
رسالة مؤرخة ٢ حزيران/يونيه (S/1994/664) موجهة من اﻷمين العام إلى رئيس مجلس اﻷمن يذكر فيها أنه عملا بالفقرة ٤ من قرار مجلس اﻷمن ٩٢٤ )١٩٩٤( قد قرر تعيين السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي ليكون مبعوثه الخاص إلى اليمن وليرأس فريق تقصي الحقائق الموفد إلى المنطقة.

I have the honour to inform you that your letter dated 2 June 1994 (S/1994/664) concerning the appointment of His Excellency Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi as your Special Envoy, pursuant to paragraph 4 of the Security Council resolution 924 (1994) concerning the situation in the Republic of Yemen, has been brought to the attention of the members of the Council.
أتشرف بإبلاغكم بأنه قد تم استرعاء اهتمام أعضاء المجلس الى رسالتكم المؤرخة ٢ حزيران/ يونيه ١٩٩٤ (S/1994/664) بشأن تعيين سعادة السيد اﻷخضر الابراهيمي ليكون مبعوثكم الخاص، عملا بالفقرة ٤ من قرار مجلس اﻷمن ٩٢٤ )١٩٩٤( بشأن الحالة في الجمهورية اليمنية.

Lastly, I should like to assure you that my country will not hesitate, if necessary, to take advantage of the capacities and competence of the United Nations in general, and of the experience which you and your Special Envoy, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, have gained, to overcome the difficulties which could present an obstacle to the national dialogue currently in progress within the country.
وأخيرا أرجو أن تثقوا بأن بلادي سوف لن تتردد في الاستفادة من إمكانيات وخبرات اﻷمم المتحدة بصفة عامة، ومن تجربتكم وتجربة معالي اﻷخ اﻷخضر الابراهيمي بصفة خاصة، في تذليل أية صعاب قد تعترض مسيرة الحوار الوطني الذي يجري اﻹعداد له حاليا في الداخل وذلك إذا ما دعت الحاجة واقتضت الضرورة، شاكرين لكم ولمبعوثكم الشخصي ما أعربتما عنه من استعداد لمساعدتنا كيمنيين.
