٣٢ - واصل برنامج اﻷغذية العالمي خلال عام ١٩٩٢ منح أولوية عليا للدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية.

Humanitarian assistance provided by WFP to OAU member States exceeded US$ 1 billion during 1992, almost twice as much as in 1991.
وتجاوزت المساعدة اﻹنسانية المقدمة من البرنامج إلى الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية بليونا واحدا من دولارات الولايات المتحدة خلال عام ١٩٩٢ أي أنها بلغت نحو ضعف ما قدم في عام ١٩٩١.

Noting with deep gratitude the readiness and willingness with which States members of the Organization of African Unity have always received refugees and displaced persons in spite of the economic difficulties facing most African States,

In fact, the purpose of the African Population Commission, established in 1993, is to bring maximum political attention to and action on population on the part of the States members of the Organization of African Unity.
وفي حقيقة اﻷمر، يتمثل هدف اللجنة السكانية الافريقية المنشأة في عام ١٩٩٣ في إيلاء أقصى قدر من الاهتمام السياسي للسكان واتخاذ الاجراءات في هذا المجال من جانب الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية.

It then urged the States members of OAU and the international community as a whole to encourage and support the forces of moderation in Burundi and to do everything possible to isolate and neutralize the extremists.

In addition to the above, WFP supported OAU member States through:
٣٥ - وباﻹضافة إلى ما سبق، قدم برنامج اﻷغذية العالمي الدعم إلى الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية من خلال:

Total Fund credit and loans outstanding to OAU member countries amounted to SDR 5.8 billion at end of 1992.
وبلغ مجموع ائتمانات الصندوق وقروضه المستحقة على البلدان اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية ٥,٨ بلايين وحدة من وحدات السحب الخاصة في نهاية عام ١٩٩٢.

In this connection, the Committee expressed its appreciation to those OAU member States that had made a commitment to send observers to the elections and urged those that had not made that commitment to do so.
وفي هذا الصدد، أعربت اللجنة عن تقديرها لتلك الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية التي التزمت بإرسال مراقبين للانتخابات وحثت تلك التي لم تفعل ذلك بعد، على القيام بذلك العمل.

37. In addition to the above, WFP supported OAU member States in the following areas:
٣٧ - وعلاوة على ما تقدم، قدم برنامج اﻷغذية العالمي الدعم للدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية في المجالات التالية:

Total Fund credit and loans outstanding to OAU member countries amounted to SDR 5.87 billion at the end of 1993.
وبلغ مجموع ائتمانات الصندوق وقروضه المستحقة على البلدان اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية ٥,٨٧ بليون وحدة من وحدات السحب الخاصة في نهاية عام ١٩٩٣.

The Union also provided assistance to certain OAU member States faced with a post-conflict situation, where vast measures of reconstruction were required.
كما قدم الاتحاد المساعدات إلى بعض الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية التي تمر بمرحلة لاحقة للصراع حيث تدعو الحاجة إلى اتخاذ تدابير تعمير واسعة النطاق.

The OAU member States were also United Nations Member States, and their conflicts should be treated in the same manner as any other international conflicts.
واختتمت كلمتها قائلة إن الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية هي أيضا دول أعضاء في اﻷمم المتحدة، وينبغي أن تُعامل نزاعاتها بنفس الطريقة التي تُعامل بها أي نزاعات دولية أخرى.

All States members of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) have pledged to do the same.
وتعهدت جميع الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية بأن تفعل الشيء نفسه.

My delegation would oppose the dismembering of Africa and the territory of the States members of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) into parts, some of which would be in the African nuclear-weapon-free zone while others would not.
ووفدي يرفض تجزئة افريقيا والدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية إلى أجزاء يكون بعضها في المنطقة الخالية من اﻷسلحة النووية في افريقيا والبعض اﻵخر خارجها.

My delegation sincerely hopes to see the speedy entry into force of this Treaty, which, among other issues, encompasses the integrality of the territory of States members of the Organization of African Unity as a nuclear-weapon-free zone.
ووفد بلدي يأمل مخلصا أن تدخل هذه المعاهدة حيز النفاذ بسرعة. وهي تشتمل على جملة أمور، منها تكامل أراضي الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية باعتبارها منطقة خالية من اﻷسلحة النووية.

14. After the introduction of the Windhoek text by the Chairman, the experts, in conjunction with the representatives of the States members of OAU, at Addis Ababa invited to the meeting, made general comments and then reviewed the text paragraph by paragraph, making amendments as necessary and giving consideration to the written proposals submitted by the nuclear-weapon States.
١٤ - وبعد أن عرض رئيس فريق الخبراء نص ويندهوك، أدلى الخبراء وممثلو الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية المدعوين الى الاجتماع بتعليقات عامة ثم استعرضوا النص، فقرة فقرة، وأدخلوا مايلزم من تعديلات مع مراعاة المقترحات الكتابية التي قدمتها الدول الحائزة لﻷسلحة النووية.

We wish to see the whole territory of the States members of the OAU, as per all its resolutions, included in the African nuclear-weapon-free zone.
إننا نود أن تكون أراضي الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة الوحدة الافريقية بأسرها، حسب كل قراراتها، ضمن المنطقة الخالية من اﻷسلحة النووية في افريقيا.
