The Friends of the Secretary-General for Haiti have indicated their Governments' readiness to provide electoral assistance, including logistical support and contribution to voter awareness programmes, but cautioned that they will not become fully involved unless the Haitians themselves agree on an Electoral Council that will give a reasonable assurance of the integrity and credibility of the electoral process.
