253. The Committee is concerned about the pervasiveness of patriarchal attitudes and deep-rooted traditional social prejudices and stereotyped attitudes regarding the roles and responsibilities of women and men in the family, the workplace, the classroom, media and other areas of society.

17. The Committee is concerned about the pervasiveness of patriarchal attitudes and deep-rooted traditional social prejudices and stereotyped attitudes regarding the roles and responsibilities of women and men in the family, the workplace, the classroom, media and other areas of society.

(a) Revise its awareness-raising measures and studies to effectively promote gender equality and overcome patriarchal attitudes and deep-rooted discriminatory stereotypes concerning the roles and responsibilities of women and men in the family and society, and inform the Committee about the results of those measures in the next periodic report;
(أ) أن تنقِّح تدابيرها ودراساتها التوعوية من أجل تعزيز المساواة بين الجنسين على نحو فعال والتغلب على الاتجاهات السلطوية الأبوية والقوالب النمطية التمييزية الراسخة الجذور في ما يتعلق بأدوار المرأة والرجل ومسؤولياتهما في الأسرة والمجتمع، وأن تُعلم اللجنة بنتائج تلك التدابير في التقرير الدوري المقبل؛

24. While welcoming the initiatives taken by the State party to combat patriarchal attitudes and deep-rooted gender stereotypes regarding the roles and responsibilities of women and men in the family, the Committee is concerned that such attitudes are still widespread and persistent, leading to domestic violence against women and children.
24- بينما ترحب اللجنة بالمبادرات التي اتخذتها الدولة الطرف لمكافحة المواقف الأبوية والصور النمطية العميقة الجذور والقائمة على أساس نوع الجنس فيما يتعلق بأدوار المرأة والرجل ومسؤولياتهما في الأسرة، يقلِقها أن هذه المواقف لا تزال واسعة الانتشار ومستمرة، ما يؤدي إلى العنف المنزلي ضد المرأة والطفل.

(a) To further strengthen its efforts to put in place a comprehensive policy with proactive and sustained measures, targeted at women, men, girls and boys, to overcome stereotypical attitudes about the roles and responsibilities of women and men in the family and in society;

While welcoming the State party's efforts to address stereotypical attitudes and behaviours that discriminate against women and perpetuate inequality between women and men, the Committee remains concerned about the persistence of deep-rooted traditional attitudes and stereotypes regarding the roles and responsibilities of women and men in the family and in society.
