Propose that the Family Unit within the Division for Social Policy and Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, United Nations Secretariat, be supported and enhanced so as to encourage and facilitate the collaboration with specialized agencies and other organizations in family and social issues;

A meeting of national focal points on improving future national reporting to the Commission on Sustainable Development was held in New York on 12 and 13 February 2002, organized by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat, with generous funding support from the Governments of Norway and Finland.
