At its 8th plenary meeting, on 9 November 2001, the Conference of the Parties, acting upon the recommendation of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation, took note that Kazakhstan, in accordance with Article 4, paragraph 2(g), had notified the Depositary on 23 March 2000 that it intended to be bound by Article 4, paragraphs 2(a) and (b) of the Convention.
