The Meeting noted that in the biennium 2010-2011, UN-SPIDER had facilitated access to imagery from satellite operators for 32 disaster events and had provided technical advisory support to 23 countries for implementation of risk reduction and emergency response activities using space-based information.

35- ويُقصد بالتدريب، في إطار برنامج سبايدر، ما يلي: " تيسير تقاسم المعارف والتعلم بغية تحقيق هدف عام هو مواصلة تحسين مهارات الأفراد فيما يتعلق باستخدام المعلومات الفضائية للحد من الأخطار الطبيعية وما يقترن بها من أزمات إنسانية، وتخفيف وطأة تلك الأخطار والتصدي بفعالية للتحديات الناشئة عنها. "

One of the purposes of the mission was to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Ecuadorian agencies concerning the use of space-based information to support the full disaster management cycle so that steps could be taken to strengthen institutional capacities.
