This supplemental information has been compiled in an effort to provide the Council, at its substantive session of 2004, with a clearer picture of the views of Member States, and should be read in conjunction with the above-mentioned report.

The Commission on Sustainable Development had taken note with appreciation of the above-mentioned report on the Panel on Science and Technology Aspects of the Sectoral Issue to be discussed by the Commission on Sustainable Development in 1995 on the subject, which had added an important dimension in furthering the implementation of chapter 10.

Recalling also Human Rights Council decision 14/118 of 17 June 2010, in which the Council took note of the above-mentioned report and requested the Advisory Committee to finalize the study on best practices in the matter of missing persons and to submit it to the Council at its sixteenth session,

On 21 November, the President of the Council addressed a letter to the Secretary-General (S/2006/911) expressing the Council's satisfaction with the draft agreement and the statute of the special tribunal annexed to the above-mentioned report.

Action: The SBSTA may wish to take note of the above-mentioned report on progress in preparing the specifications of the data exchange standards, and the above-mentioned report on the intersessional consultations on registry systems, and call the attention of the COP to any specific issues relating to these topics.

Based on its deliberations, the Assembly adopted decision 52/466 of 31 March 1998, in which it took note of the above-mentioned report and requested the Secretary-General, taking into account the comments made in the Fifth Committee (see A/C.5/52/SR.55), to report to it on a regular basis on the activities of the Trust Fund and other related matters.

At the 8th plenary meeting, on 9 November 2001, the Conference of the Parties took note of the above-mentioned report of the Global Environment Facility, and also endorsed the conclusions transmitted to it (FCCC/SBI/2001/L.17) by the SBI on this matter (see FCCC/CP/2001/13/Add.4, section V).

In a letter dated 4 November 1994 (S/1994/1256), the President of the Council advised me that the members of the Council had taken note of the aforementioned report and looked forward to receiving a definitive report at the appropriate time.
