7. It may be recalled that pursuant to a recommendation of the persons chairing human rights treaty bodies and Commission on Human Rights resolution 1989/46, a Task Force on computerization was established to examine the question of computerization of the work of the treaty bodies.

5. Requests the Secretary-General to give priority to expediting the implementation of the recommendations of the Task Force on computerization as soon as possible by requesting the States Members of the United Nations, in particular States which are parties to various human rights instruments, to make generous voluntary contributions to cover the initial one-time cost of the proposed system;

5. Expresses concern at the difficulties faced and the delay taken in expediting the implementation of the recommendations of the task force on computerization appointed by the Secretary-General with a view to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the functioning of the treaty bodies;

The Task Force on computerization was appointed by the Secretary-General in 1989 and presented its report 3/ to the Commission at its forty-sixth session.
