He underlined the significance of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and its follow-up, which recognized that the members of ILO had an obligation to respect the principles concerning the fundamental rights contained in the ILO conventions.

(ج) لا ينتهك موظفو الأمن حقوق الأفراد عند ممارسة حقوقهم في حرية تكوين الجمعيات والتجمع السلمي، أو المفاوضة الجماعية، أو التمتع بالحقوق الأخرى ذات الصلة للعمال ولأصحاب العمل، مثلما هو معترف به في الشرعة الدولية لحقوق الإنسان وإعلان منظمة العمل الدولية المتعلق بالمبادئ والحقوق الأساسية في العمل.
