51. On 6 May 2008, Andorra ratified the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data and the Additional Protocol to the Convention, No. 108, regarding supervisory authorities and transborder data flows.

The Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 1986, applied safeguards to the handling of personal data on computer, which in turn enabled the provisions of the 1981 Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data to be extended to the Bailiwick.
