While the Committee takes note of the information provided by the delegation concerning a bill under consideration that makes provision for exceptions to the absolute prohibition of abortion, it notes with concern that the bill does not provide for an exception to be made in cases where a pregnancy is the result of incest.

20. The Committee notes the information provided by the delegation that the State Party operates an open border policy with Somalia and all asylum applicants are treated in accordance with the State party's obligations under international and regional conventions on human rights and refugees.

23. Welcoming the information provided by the delegation regarding the consideration being given by the State party to making the optional declaration provided for in article 14 of the Convention recognizing the competence of the Committee to receive and consider individual complaints, the Committee encourages the State party to make the declaration without delay.
23- وإذ ترحب اللجنة بالمعلومات المقدمة من الوفد عن نظر الدولة الطرف في إصدار الإعلان الاختياري المنصوص عليه في المادة 14 من الاتفاقية بشأن الاعتراف باختصاص اللجنة بتلقي شكاوى الأفراد والنظر فيها، تشجع اللجنة الدولة الطرف على إصدار هذا الإعلان دون تأخير.

(11) The Committee welcomes the information provided by the delegation that the Police has reviewed and revised, in late 2007, the guidelines for the conduct of officers engaging in police operations in the context of prostitution-related offences.

17. The Committee takes note of information provided by the delegation which indicates that the Cuban authorities are close to concluding their study of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (the Palermo Protocol) (art. 5, subpara. (b)).
17- وتحيط اللجنة علماً بالمعلومات المقدمة من الوفد التي تفيد بأن دراسة السلطات الكوبية لبروتوكول منع الاتجار بالأشخاص، وبخاصة النساء والأطفال، وقمعه والمعاقبة عليه المكمل لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية (بروتوكول باليرمو) توجد في مرحلتها النهائية. (المادة 5(ب))

It further notes information from the delegation that courts generally interpret the law to include persons under 18 as children for all purposes.
