78. She welcomed the draft resolution on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of women, and urged Governments and non-governmental organizations to work together, in consultation with religious and cultural leaders, to eliminate such practices.

483. The Inter-African Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children (IAC) is taking forward the recommendations of the Nairobi workshop working with legislators and those involved in child protection within the region and in pilot countries, in 2007.
