1. The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions recommends approval of the proposals of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) for the period from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013, and has made recommendations and observations, where appropriate, in the paragraphs below.

(a) Two official missions of the Independent Expert to Haiti for an average duration of 15 days each; these missions shall transit through New York in order for the Independent Expert to interact with the Security Council in relation to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti, as well as other relevant actors related to Haiti;

The situation concerning the proposals in the interim budget for the United Nations Operation in Burundi (ONUB) (A/58/802) is similar to that which was referred to in respect of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti and the United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor in the Advisory Committee's report on those missions (A/58/809).
