15. With regard to the report of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations (A/55/305-S/2000/809), his delegation supported the position put forward in the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations by the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, which attached great importance to the role of the Department of Public Information, including the units concerned with issues of peace and security.
