The representative of the United States of America stated that the Government had raised issues relating to the Freedom of the Media in its dealings with Governments at all levels, advocated for the release of imprisoned journalists and called for justice when media professionals were killed with impunity.

Therefore law enforcement bodies and the judiciary should be trained to effectively and promptly investigate violations of the Freedom of the Media and to conduct the respective proceedings.

As a result of this cooperation, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has been actively participating in the work of all OSCE bodies and organs and maintains cooperation with the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the High Commissioner on National Minorities and the OSCE Representative on freedom of media.
