8. The Economic and Social Council was requested by the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society to oversee the United Nations system-wide follow-up of the outcomes of the Geneva and Tunis Phases of the Summit.

The agenda of the meeting touched on a broad range of public policy issues related to the Internet, in line with the definition of Internet governance as set out in the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society.
وتطرق جدول الأعمال إلى طائفة واسعة من قضايا السياسات العامة المتصلة بالإنترنت، على نحو ما ورد في تعريف إدارة شؤون الإنترنت المبين في برنامج عمل تونس بشأن مجتمع المعلومات.

A. Progress towards implementation of paragraph 71 of the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society
ألف - التقدم المحرز لتنفيذ الفقرة 71 من برنامج عمل تونس بشأن مجتمع المعلومات

In recognition of the multi-stakeholder efforts needed at all levels to achieve the objectives of the Summit, the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society established clear mechanisms for implementation and follow-up at the national, regional and international levels.
واعترافاً بجهود أصحاب المصلحة المتعددين اللازم بذلها على جميع المستويات لتحقيق أهداف القمة أنشأ برنامج عمل تونس بشأن مجتمع المعلومات آليات واضحة للتنفيذ والمتابعة على الصُعد الوطنية والإقليمية والدولية.

3. The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) was requested by the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society to oversee the UN system-wide follow-up of the outcomes of the Geneva and Tunis Phases of the Summit.
3- وطلب برنامج عمل تونس بشأن مجتمع المعلومات من المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي أن يراقب متابعة حصيلة مرحلتي جنيف وتونس للقمة على صعيد منظومة الأمم المتحدة.

The Ministers, therefore strongly urged the UN Secretary General to start urgently the process towards enhanced cooperation, as referred to in paragraphs 69 to 71 of the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society of the second phase of the Summit.
ومن ثم حث الوزراء بشدة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة على أن يعجل ببدء عملية تعزيز التعاون، على النحو المشار إليه في الفقرات 69 إلى 71 من برنامج عمل تونس بشأن مجتمع المعلومات في إطار المرحلة الثانية من القمة.

The Heads of State and Government expressed their deep concern over the long delay in starting the process towards enhanced cooperation by the UN Secretary General, as referred to in paragraphs 69 to 71 of the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society of the second phase of the Summit.
كما أعرب رؤساء الدول والحكومات عن قلقهم البالغ إزاء التأخر لفترة طويلة في بدء عملية تعزيز التعاون من جانب الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، كما جاء في الفقرات من 69 إلى 71 من برنامج عمل تونس بشأن مجتمع المعلومات في المرحلة الثانية لمؤتمر القمة.

136. There is also a need to benchmark progress towards the attainment of the specific targets and goals set out in the Geneva Plan of Action and the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society.
