The European Union has considered the report (A/50/499) of the Secretary-General of 3 October 1995 on the situation in Central America.

The Secretary-General's statement on the programme budget implications of draft resolution A/49/L.35 concerning the situation in Central America was contained in document A/C.5/49/45.

The report on the situation in Central America mentions all of this and this is why I would like to point out that these results have led to a visible improvement in the living conditions in large areas of Central America previously afflicted by long years of armed conflict and whose current and future populations, especially those who belong to the most vulnerable sectors, can now look to the future with promise.
