(b) Requested the Forum to conclude and adopt at its seventh session a non-legally binding instrument on all types of forests and requested the secretariat of the Forum to circulate to the member States, by 31 July 2006, a compilation of the draft indicative elements and other proposals submitted by members during the sixth session;

By paragraph 26 of its resolution 2006/49, the Economic and Social Council requested the Forum to conclude and adopt, at its seventh session, a non-legally binding instrument on all types of forests. In order to facilitate this work it also decided, by paragraph 29 of the same resolution, that the Forum should convene an open-ended ad hoc expert group to consider the content of the non-legally binding instrument.

Emphasizes the importance of strengthening political commitment and action at all levels to implement effectively the sustainable management of all types of forests and to achieve the global objectives set out in the present resolution by requesting the Forum to conclude and adopt at its seventh session a non-legally binding instrument on all types of forests, and, in order to facilitate the work of the Forum in this regard;
26 - يؤكد أهمية تعزيز الالتزام السياسي والعمل على جميع الأصعدة من أجل كفالة الفعالية في إدارة الغابات بجميع أنواعها على نحو مستدام وتحقيق الأهداف العالمية المبينة في هذا القرار، وذلك بأن يطلب إلى المنتدى أن يقوم في دورته السابعة بإبرام صك غير ملزم قانونا بشأن الغابات بجميع أنواعها واعتماد ذلك الصك، ويضطلع، في سبيل تيسير عمل المنتدى في هذا الصدد، بالإجراءات الواردة أدناه.
