15. At its 4th meeting, on 7 August 2012, the Advisory Committee held a discussion on human rights and international solidarity.

The responses received were analysed and taken into account in presenting his views on human rights and international solidarity in the present report, so far as they depicted certain trends, represented useful insights or highlighted salient elements.

4. On 28 July 2005, the Chairperson of the Commission on Human Rights, following consultations with the Expanded Bureau of the sixty-first session, appointed Rudi Muhammad Rizki as independent expert on human rights and international solidarity.

11. In accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 18/5, the Expert Workshop on human rights and international solidarity was held in Geneva on 7 and 8 June 2012, convened under the auspices of the Independent Expert on human rights and international solidarity.
11- وعملاً بقرار مجلس حقوق الإنسان 18/5، عُقدت حلقة عمل الخبراء بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتضامن الدولي في جنيف يومي 7 و8 حزيران/يونيه 2012 برعاية الخبيرة المستقلة المعنية بحقوق الإنسان والتضامن الدولي.

29. At its 6th meeting, on 10 August, pursuant to Council resolutions 9/2, 12/9 and 15/13, the Committee held a discussion on human rights and international solidarity.

39. At its 5th meeting, on 22 February, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolutions 9/2, 12/9 and 15/13, the Advisory Committee held a discussion on human rights and international solidarity.

Mr Chen, chairperson of the drafting group, presented the draft paper on human rights and international solidarity (A/HRC/AC/8/CRP.1).

During his second term, he circulated a questionnaire on human rights and international solidarity to States, United Nations departments and bodies, specialized agencies, other international organizations, NGOs and special procedures mandate holders of the Human Rights Council.

9. In 2009, the former Independent Expert distributed a questionnaire on human rights and international solidarity to Member States, the Departments of the Secretariat, United Nations bodies, the specialized agencies, other international organizations, non-governmental organizations and special procedures mandate holders.

The Committee held preliminary consultations on the draft paper on human rights and international solidarity as input to the work of the Independent Expert on a draft declaration on human rights and international solidarity, pursuant to Council resolutions 9/2, 12/9 and 15/13.

36. The Advisory Committee submitted its final paper on human rights and international solidarity to the twenty-first session of the Human Rights Council (A/HRC/21/66).
36 - وقدَّمت اللجنة الاستشارية ورقتها النهائية بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتضامن الدولي إلى الدورة الحادية والعشرين لمجلس حقوق الإنسان (A/HRC/21/66).

37. As mentioned above, the Independent Expert played an active role in the preparation and organization by OHCHR of an expert workshop on human rights and international solidarity, which was held in Geneva on 7 and 8 June 2012.
37 - وعلى نحو ما سبق ذكره، فقد اضطلعت الخبيرة المستقلة بدور فعَّال فيما قامت به مفوضية حقوق الإنسان من إعداد وتنظيم حلقة عمل للخبراء بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتضامن الدولي عُقدَت في جنيف يومي 7 و 8 حزيران/يونيه 2012.

12. Welcomes the holding of the expert workshop on human rights and international solidarity in Geneva on 7 and 8 June 2012, and takes note of the summary of the discussion contained in the addendum to the report of the Independent Expert;

13. In this connection, an expert workshop on human rights and international solidarity was held by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva on 7 and 8 June 2012 (see A/HRC/44/Add.1). It was convened under the auspices of the current Independent Expert who brought together 26 experts from all regions.

46. At the expert workshop on human rights and international solidarity, held in June 2012, participants had generally agreed that there was a strong relationship between international cooperation and international solidarity, even though there were differences of opinion on the nature of that link.
46- اتفق المشاركون عموماً في حلقة عمل الخبراء بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتضامن الدولي التي عقدت في حزيران/يونيه 2012()، على أن هناك علاقة قوية بين التعاون الدولي والتضامن الدولي وإن تفاوتت الآراء بشأن طبيعة هذه العلاقة.
