Following our participation in the ministerial mission of the Melanesian Spearhead Group to New Caledonia this year, Fiji sponsored the Fourth Committee's 2010 resolution on New Caledonia.

In this regard, the leaders agreed to a continuing future monitoring role for the ministerial committee on New Caledonia during the implementation process of the Nouméa Accord, and encouraged the Government and all parties in New Caledonia to continue to maintain their commitment in earnest to its implementation, in keeping with the intent and spirit of the Accord.

11. At its 8th meeting, on 28 October 1996 (see A/C.4/51/SR.8), the Committee adopted without a vote the draft resolution on New Caledonia contained in document A/51/23 (Part V).

47. His delegation noted with satisfaction that the current year's draft resolution on New Caledonia took account of that positive situation, and of the ongoing dialogue between parties under the auspices of the French Government; and France would accordingly not object to the draft resolution or request a vote, although it could not associate itself with it.

In October 2005, at the 36th Summit of the Pacific Islands Forum in Papua New Guinea, leaders endorsed the Pacific Regional Framework for Action for Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters, 2005-2015, as well as the report of the Forum Ministerial Committee on New Caledonia.

27 - ترحب أيضا بقيام اللجنة الوزارية لمنتدى جزر المحيط الهادئ بتنشيط الحوار بشأن كاليدونيا الجديدة في عام 2010 وبطلب قادة المنتدى إلى أمانة المنتدى بحث سبل توسيع نطاق دور كاليدونيا الجديدة في المنتدى ومشاركتها فيه؛
