The Committee recalls the view it expressed in its report on the budget proposals for peacekeeping operations that, from the viewpoint of its role in the budgetary review process, the logical frameworks require improvement if they are to enable Member States to assess how effectively mandates are being implemented and also meet the specific needs of the Secretariat to use such frameworks as planning and monitoring tools (A/66/718, para. 10).

Takes note of paragraphs 19 and 20 of the report of the Joint Inspection Unit for 1998 and reaffirms article 20 of the statute of the Joint Inspection Unit and paragraph 182 of General Assembly resolution 54/249 of 23 December 1999 and, in this regard, requests the Secretary-General to submit the report of the Administrative Committee on Coordination on the budget proposals made by the Unit as required by the statute;
