English Page INTRODUCTION The mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography was first created in 1990 by the Commission on Human Rights for one year in its resolution 1990/68.

The Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography had done commendable work, as had the open-ended working group of the Commission on Human Rights on a draft optional protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child dealing with that issue.

His delegation supported the work of the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, welcomed the convening in Stockholm of the World Congress against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, and strongly supported the Declaration and Agenda for Action issued at that Congress.

The exploitation of child labour undoubtedly constitutes a form of the sale of children and Morocco does not believe that the Special Rapporteur assigned by the Commission on Human Rights to update the study previously prepared by Abdelwahab Bouhdiba on this subject in 1981 will deviate from the approach adopted by the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children.
وما تظن المغرب أن المقرر الخاص الذي كلفته لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان بتحيين الدراسة التي سبق أن أعدها عبد الوهاب بوحديبة حول الموضوع سنة ١٩٨١، سيخرج عن التكييف الذي اعتمده المقرر الخاص المعني بمسائل بيع اﻷطفال.

In October of this year, the report of Mr. Vitit Muntarbhorn, the Special Rapporteur on child prostitution, child pornography and the sale of children, was issued.

1. At its fifty-first session, the Commission on Human Rights decided, by its resolution 1995/79, to renew for a further period of three years the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.

The working group emphasizes the important role in this respect at the international level, of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, the Commission on Human Rights and the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities.
ويؤكد الفريق العامل الدور الهام في هذا الصدد، على المستوى الدولي، الذي تقوم به لجنة حقوق الطفل ويقوم به المقرر الخاص المعني بمسائل بيع اﻷطفال ودعارة اﻷطفال والتصوير اﻹباحي لﻷطفال وتقوم به لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان واللجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية اﻷقليات.
