These actions of the Russian Federation are a further infringement on Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. They constitute a gross violation of the Constitution of Georgia, of the norms and principles of international law and of Russia's international commitments, including those Russia undertook under the Ceasefire Agreement of 12 August 2008, and pose a threat to peace and stability in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia calls on the members of the international community to give an adequate assessment of another farce conducted in one of the occupied regions of Georgia -- the Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia -- and continue pressuring Russia to stop its provocative acts against Georgia and start fulfilling its obligations under the Ceasefire Agreement of 12 August 2008.
