In its statement on poverty, (E/C.12/2001/10) the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights elaborated:

36. Taking into account its statement on sexual and reproductive health and rights, adopted at its fifty-seventh session, in February 2014, the Committee notes that unsafe abortion is a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality.

c/ In a communication received by the Secretary-General in 1979, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago confirmed that its statement regarding article 15, paragraph 1, constituted an interpretative declaration which did not aim to exclude or modify the legal effect of the provisions of the Covenant.

13. While commending the withdrawal of the reservation to article 7 (a) of the Convention by the State party, the Committee reiterates its concern, drawing attention to its statement on reservations, about the maintenance of reservations by the State party to articles 9, paragraph 2, and 16, paragraph 1 (f), of the Convention.
13- بينما تشيد اللجنة بسحب الدولة الطرف تحفظها على المادة 7(أ) من الاتفاقية، تكرر اللجنة، موجهةً الانتباه إلى بيانها المتعلق بالتحفظات()، تأكيد قلقها بشأن إبقاء الدولة الطرف على تحفظاتها على الفقرة 2 من المادة 9 والفقرة 1(و) من المادة 16 من الاتفاقية.

In that regard, the Committee draws the attention of the State party to its statement on reservations (see A/53/38/Rev.1, part two, chap. I), and in particular its view that articles 2 and 16 are central to the object and purpose of the Convention, and that, in accordance with article 28, paragraph 2, reservations should be reviewed and modified or withdrawn.
وفي هذا الصدد، توجه اللجنة نظر الدولة الطرف إلى بيانها المتعلق بالتحفظات (انظر A/53/38/Rev.1، الجزء الثاني، الفصل الأول)، ولا سيما وجهة نظرها القائلة بأن المادتين 2 و 16 لهما أهمية محورية بالنسبة للهدف من الاتفاقية ومقصدها، وأنه، وفقا للمادة 28-2، ينبغي إعادة النظر في التحفظات وتعديلها أو سحبها.

275. Taking into consideration its statement on racial discrimination and measures to combat terrorism of 8 March 2002 (A/57/18), the Committee regrets the rendition under suspicion of terrorism of Mr. Khaled al-Masri, a German citizen of Lebanese origin, to a third country for purposes of detention and interrogation.
275- واللجنة، إذ تضع في اعتبارها بيانها المتعلق بالتمييز العنصري وتدابير مكافحة الإرهاب المؤرخ 8 آذار/مارس 2002 (A/57/18)، تأسف لتسليم السيد خالد المصري، وهو مواطن ألماني من أصل لبناني، مشتبه في تورطه في الإرهاب، إلى بلد ثالث لأغراض احتجازه واستجوابه.

The Committee draws the State party's attention to its statement on racial discrimination and measures to combat terrorism of 8 March 2002 (A/57/18, chap. XI, sect. C) and recommends that it undertake sensitization campaigns against stereotypes associating certain groups with terrorism.
وتوجه اللجنة انتباه الدولة الطرف إلى بيانها المتعلق بالتمييز العنصري وتدابير مكافحة الإرهاب A/57/18)، الفصل الحادي عشر، الفرع جيم) وتوصيها بتنظيم حملات للتوعية بمخاطر القوالب النمطية التي تقرن صورة فئات معينة بالإرهاب.
