The Committee observes that article 17 provides, inter alia, that no one shall be subjected to arbitrary or unlawful interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence.
وتلاحظ اللجنة أن المادة ٧١، تنص فيما تنص عليه، على أنه لا يجوز تعريض أي شخص، على نحو تعسفي أو غير قانوني، لتدخل في خصوصياته )حياته الخاصة( أو شؤون أسرته أو بيته أو مراسلاته.

Issues regarding information gathering and surveillance are closely linked to the right to privacy which is protected under article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 17 of the ICCPR which protects against the arbitrary or unlawful interference with privacy, family, home, or correspondence.
