With help from the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the Islamic Republic of Iran had held two workshops on facilitating rail and road transit transport, and was also on its way towards acceding to the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) programme, with a view to effectively implementing trade facilitation measures.

The Heads of State welcomed and expressed appreciation of the initiative of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic to hold an international conference in the city of Baku to develop the Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transport Corridor and the adoption of new standard multilateral agreements on transport to promote the development of alternative transport networks.
٧ - وأعرب رؤساء الدول عن ترحيبهم وتقديرهم لمبادرة رئيس جمهورية أذربيجان بعقد مؤتمر دولي في مدينة باكو من أجل إقامة ممر النقل بين أوروبا والقوقاز وآسيا واعتماد اتفاقات متعددة اﻷطراف موحدة جديدة بشأن النقل من أجل العمل على إيجاد شبكات نقل بديلة.

Also, the effective implementation of the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for Development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia Corridor (TRACECA)3 has contributed to the fact that the level of transit traffic through this corridor in 2004 was 2.5 times that in 1999.
كما أسهم التنفيذ الفعال للاتفاق الأساسي المتعدد الأطراف المتعلق بالنقل الدولي من أجل تنمية ممر النقل بين أوروبا والقوقاز وآسيا()، إلى ارتفاع مستوى النقل العابر خلال هذا الممر بحيث أصبح في عام 2004، 2.5 مرة ما كان عليه في عام 1999.
