It is reflected in the positive roles of eminent Nigerian jurists who have served on the Court, and is underscored by the voluntary submission of the dispute between Nigeria and Cameroon regarding the Bakassi Peninsula to the Court for adjudication and our adherence to its decision.
وهو ينعكس في الأدوار الإيجابية للحقوقيين النيجريين البارزين الذي عملوا في المحكمة، ويؤكد عليه العرض الطوعي للنزاع بين نيجيريا والكاميرون فيما يتعلق بشبه جزيرة باكاسي للمحكمة للحكم فيه وامتثالنا لقرار المحكمة.

With regard to the implementation of resolution 1625 (2005), the United Nations Secretariat remained actively involved in the prevention of conflicts on the African continent through its peacekeeping missions and good offices, including in Guinea-Bissau and Central Africa and through the United Nations Office for West Africa; it was thanks to that Office that the border dispute between Nigeria and Cameroon had been settled.
وفيما يتعلق بتنفيذ القرار 1625 (2005)، ذكر أن الأمانة العامة للأمم المتحدة ظلت تشارك بنشاط في منع الصراعات في القارة الأفريقية من خلال بعثات حفظ السلام وبعثات النوايا الحسنة التي توفدها، بما فيها البعثتان اللتان أوفدتا إلى غينيا - بيساو وإلى أفريقيا الوسطى، ومن خلال مكتب الأمم المتحدة لغرب أفريقيا الذي كان له الفضل في تسوية منازعات الحدود بين نيجيريا والكاميرون.

The growing presence of Boko Haram militants along the Nigeria-Cameroon border and around Lake Chad is also a cause for concern.
