وفي القرار ٩٤/٥٤١ رحبت الجمعية العامة باﻹجراءات التجديدية التي اعتمدتها لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري لاستعراض إعمال الاتفاقية في الدول التي تأخرت في تقديم تقاريرها.

In view of the large number of States which had not submitted their reports on time, the Committee had adopted a special decision in which it had requested nine States whose reports had been overdue for more than three years to submit them as soon as possible for consideration at one of the Committee’s forthcoming sessions.

Encouraged by paragraph 4 of General Assembly resolution 51/80, the Committee, at its fifty-first session, started the process of reviewing implementation of the Convention in States whose initial reports are overdue by five years or more.

وكانت اللجنة قد اعتمدت فيما مضى الممارسة ذاتها في حالة أربع دول أطراف تأخرت في تقديم تقاريرها.

Treaty bodies have aimed to address such gaps, including through follow-up procedures and the review of country situations in the absence of a report, on the basis of information from other sources, in the case of States parties whose reports are seriously overdue.
وتهدف هيئات المعاهدات إلى سد هذه الثغرات، بوسائل منها إجراءات المتابعة واستعراض أوضاع البلدان في حال عدم تقديم التقارير، وذلك بالاستناد إلى معلومات مستقاة من مصادر أخرى في حالة الدول الأطراف التي تأخرت في تقديم تقاريرها لوقت طويل.
