٣ - تدعو الدول الحائزة لﻷسلحة النووية إلى أن توطد العزم على بذل جهود دؤوبة وتدريجية ترمي إلى تخفيض اﻷسلحة النووية على الصعيد العالمي بهدف التخلص من هذه اﻷسلحة في نهاية المطاف، وإلى قيام جميع الدول بالسعي إلى نزع السلاح العام الكامل تحت رقابة دولية صارمة وفعالة؛

Appreciating the indefinite extension of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and acknowledging the importance of the determined pursuit by the nuclear-weapon States of systematic and progressive efforts to reduce nuclear weapons globally, with the ultimate goal of eliminating those weapons, and by all States of general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control;
" وتقديرا منها لتمديد معاهدة عدم انتشار اﻷسلحة النووية الى أجل غير محدد، واعترافا منها بأهمية ما أعربت عنه الدول الحائزة لﻷسلحة النووية من عزم أكيد على بذل الجهود بصورة منتظمة ومطردة من أجل تخفيض اﻷسلحة النووية على الصعيد العالمي بهدف إزالتها في نهاية المطاف، وما أعربت عنه جميع الدول من عزم أكيد على تحقيق نزع السلاح العام الكامل في ظل مراقبة دولية صارمة وفعالة، "

Recommends that the relevant international forums, in particular the Conference on Disarmament, should immediately start negotiations on nuclear disarmament to reduce nuclear weapons globally within a phased programme, with the ultimate goal of eliminating those weapons, thus contributing to the enhancement of international peace and security and the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and above all the right to life.
٢- توصي المحافل الدولية المعنية، ولا سيما مؤتمر نزع السلاح، بالشروع فوراً في مفاوضات بشأن نزع السلاح النووي بغية تخفيض اﻷسلحة النووية على الصعيد العالمي في إطار برنامج مرحلي، وصولاً إلى الغاية النهائية المتمثلة في إزالة تلك اﻷسلحة، واﻹسهام بالتالي في تعزيز السلم واﻷمن الدوليين وحماية حقوق اﻹنسان والحريات اﻷساسية، وعلى رأسها الحق في الحياة.
