In its resolution 2003/6, the Economic and Social Council decided to take the necessary steps to implement the provisions of paragraph 46 of General Assembly resolution 57/270 B, in which the Assembly had requested each functional commission to examine its methods of work in order to better pursue the implementation of the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits.
