The logical course of action was for the Committee to take a decision on draft resolution A/C.5/51/L.36 forthwith, in accordance with rule 131 of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly, which provided that if two or more proposals related to the same question, the Committee should vote on the proposals in the order in which they had been submitted.
