Mercury exists in wastewater due to accidental or intentional discharging of liquid mercury from thermometers, dental amalgams, or other industrial processes using mercury or mercury compounds.

1. Parties shall limit mercury content in mercury-added products and processes that use mercury or mercury compounds by applying the following measures as appropriate:

- قائمة حصر لعدد وأنواع المرافق التي تستخدم الزئبق أو مركَبات الزئبق في عمليات التصنيع المدرجة في الجزء الأول، بما في ذلك تقديرات لكمية الزئبق التي تستهلكها سنوياً

4. The Secretariat shall, on the basis of information provided by Parties, collect and maintain information on processes that use mercury or mercury compounds and their alternatives, and shall make such information publicly available.

(e) Using economic incentives or disincentives to promote the substitution of products, methods of analysis and processes that contain or use mercury or mercury compounds;
