In August, the Civil Society Assembly (ASC) complained of threats against Reverend Vitalino Similox, Mrs. Margarita de Similox and Lucio Martínez, a religious activist, by El Jaguar Justiciero in connection with their efforts to bring about the elucidation of the murder of Pastor Manuel Saquic on 23 June in Chimaltenango and the arrest of those responsible.
