The establishment of the Inter-agency Working Group on Environment Statistics is envisaged as a major step towards more efficient use of resources and a more effective sharing of work among international organizations in the Development of Environment Statistics.

At its 3rd meeting, on 27 February, the Commission had before it a report of the Secretary-General on the revision of the Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics (E/CN.3/2013/6).
