In this connection, the Chinese delegation holds that nuclear-weapon States should fulfil in good faith their nuclear disarmament obligations, as stipulated in article VI of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), reduce the role of nuclear weapons in their national security policies, and unequivocally undertake not to seek permanent possession of nuclear weapons.
