Following the publication of the report of the Panel of Experts on the Illegal Exploitation of Natural Resources and Other Forms of Wealth in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Government of the Republic of Burundi would like to draw the attention of the Security Council to the following:

The Tribunal wishes to draw the attention of the General Assembly to the fact that in the years 1950–1984, when the Tribunal’s secretariat consisted of two staff members, the Tribunal rendered 342 judgements, or approximately 10 per year. In the years 1985–1988, the Tribunal rendered 97 judgements, or approximately 24 per year.
