(b) During periods of active hostilities, a perimeter-marked area should, to the extent feasible, be appropriately marked. After the cessation of active hostilities and as soon as feasible, the area shall be marked in accordance with sub-paragraph (a) above.
(ب) أثناء فترات أعمال القتال الفعلية، ينبغي قدر المستطاع عملياً وضع علامات مناسبة تدل على المناطق المحدد محيطها، وبعد توقف أعمال القتال الفعلية يجب بأسرع ما يمكن تحديد المنطقة بعلامات وفقاً للفقرة الفرعية (أ) أعلاه.

Articles 21, 118 and 119 of the Third Geneva Convention permit the internment of POWs until their repatriation at the " cessation of active hostilities " or the completion of any criminal proceedings or punishment for an indictable offence that may be pending against a POW.

Community liaison: Liaison with affected communities should be organised as soon as possible after the cessation of active hostilities in an area to both promote safer behaviour and involve affected communities in planning, prioritising and implementation of clearance and victim assistance programmes.
5- الاتصال بالمجتمعات المحلية: ينبغي أن يتم تنظيم الاتصال بالمجتمعات المحلية المتأثرة في أقرب وقت ممكن بعد توقف أعمال القتال الفعلية في المنطقة من أجل تشجيع التصرف على نحو أكثر أمناً وكذلك إشراك المجتمعات المحلية المتأثرة في التخطيط لبرامج إزالة المتفجرات ومساعدة الضحايا وفي وضع أولويات هذه البرامج وتنفيذها.
