In a judgement of the Supreme Court of 4 February 1999, the Court ruled that the University of Iceland had not fulfilled its legal obligation under the Act on Disabled Persons, article 2 of Protocol No. 1 to the European Convention on Human Rights concerning the right to education, and article 65 of the Constitution on the principle of equality.
