At successive sessions from 2008 to 2010, the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level has adopted resolutions affirming the inalienable right of Arab States to benefit from the peaceful uses of nuclear energy in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

The above-mentioned resolution was adopted by the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Ministers for Foreign Affairs at its one hundred eighteenth regular session, held from 3 to 5 September 2002 at the League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo.
وقد اتخذ القرار المذكور من جانب مجلس جامعة الدول العربية على مستوى وزراء الخارجية في دورته العادية الثامنة عشرة بعد المائة، المعقودة في الفترة من 3 إلى 5 أيلول/سبتمبر 2002، بمقر جامعة الدول العربية في القاهرة.

At the eighteenth session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit level, that was held in Khartoum in 2006, the Arab States announced action at both the national and regional levels to develop programmes for the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, with a view to achieving development in various spheres.
1 - أعلنت الدول العربية في بيان لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على مستوى القمة، في دورته الثامنة عشرة بالخرطوم، عام 2006، عن العمل على تطوير برامج للاستخدامات السلمية للطاقة النووية لتحقيق التنمية في مختلف المجالات، وأن يكون التحرك على المستويين الوطني والإقليمي.

8. Encourages the League of Arab States to continue its efforts in cooperation with all Syrian stakeholders;

In this regard, I wish to pay tribute to the efforts of the United Nations and its Secretary-General in seeking peaceful solutions to such problems. I wish to reaffirm the keenness of the League of Arab States to cooperate with the Secretary-General with the aim of promoting the role of the United Nations in establishing peace on the foundations of justice and the resolutions of international legality, especially in our Arab region.
وأود بهذه المناسبة أن أشيد بجهود اﻷمم المتحدة وأمينها العام في سبيل إيجاد حلول سلمية لهذه المشاكل وأن أؤكد على حرص جامعة الدول العربية على التعاون معه بغية دعم دور اﻷمم المتحدة بما يكفل إحلال السلام المبني على العدل وعلى قرارات الشرعية الدولية، خاصة في منطقتنا العربية.
