The Council commended the efforts of the African Union for the successful deployment of AMIS, for its significant contributions in Darfur, and reiterated in the strongest terms the need for all parties in Darfur to end the violence and atrocities.

Reiterating its strong condemnation of attacks against UNAMID, and its call on the Government of Sudan swiftly to investigate these attacks and to bring the perpetrators to justice, and on all parties in Darfur to cooperate fully with the Mission,

Deploring the ongoing violence, impunity, and consequent deterioration of the humanitarian situation, and reiterating its deep concern about the security of civilians and humanitarian aid workers and about humanitarian access to populations in need, and calling upon all parties in Darfur to cease offensive actions immediately and to refrain from further violent attacks,
وإذ يشجب تواصل أعمال العنف دون عقاب، وما يترتب على ذلك من تدهور في الحالة الإنسانية، وإذ يكرر الإعراب عن بالغ قلقه بشأن أمن المدنيين والعاملين في مجال المساعدة الإنسانية وبشأن إمكانيات إيصال المساعدة الإنسانية لمن يحتاجها من السكان، وإذ يناشد جميع الأطراف في دارفور أن توقف فورا الأعمال الهجومية والامتناع عن شن المزيد من الهجمات،

More specifically, the International Commission of Inquiry was tasked with investigating reports of violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law in Darfur by all parties; to determine also whether acts of genocide had occurred; and to identify the perpetrators of such violations with a view to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
