33. UNCT-Gabon welcomed the decision to issue birth certificates for children free of charge but considered that Gabon should also establish mechanisms designed to ensure that all children born on its territory would actually receive birth certificates.
33- يرى الفريق القطري في غابون أن قرار تسليم شهادات الميلاد مجاناً إلى الأطفال كان مشجعاً وأن على غابون أيضاً أن تنشئ آليات تهدف إلى ضمان حصول جميع الأطفال الذين يولدون في إقليمها فعلاً على شهادات الميلاد(53).

On the prevention of statelessness, UNHCR recommended that Grenada review the Citizenship Act and the Registration of Births and Deaths Act; amend them in order to fully comply with the international standards on prevention of statelessness; and register and issue birth certificates to all children born on its territory at the time of birth.

31. A feature of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System is the Bedside Registration Programme which was introduced in January 2007 to collect sex-disaggregated data on the particulars of all babies born in public health facilities. (Please see Article 9 for details).
