(b) To ensure the security and protection of all United Nations and associated personnel and other personnel carrying out activities in fulfilment of the mandate of a United Nations operation, in compliance with international humanitarian law, in particular their obligations under the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 and the obligations applicable to them under the Additional Protocols thereto of 8 June 1977;
(ب) ضمان أمن وحماية جميع موظفي الأمم المتحدة والأفراد المرتبطين بها وغيرهم من الأفراد الذين يضطلعون بأنشطة لتنفيذ ولاية مسندة إلى عملية من عمليات الأمم المتحدة، وذلك امتثالاً للقانون الإنساني الدولي، ولا سيما لالتزاماتها بموجب اتفاقيات جنيف المؤرخة 12 آب/أغسطس 1949 والالتزامات المنطبقة عليها بموجب البروتوكولين الإضافيين المؤرخين 8 حزيران/يونيه 1977؛

Australia would have preferred that the Protocol extend the automatic application of the Convention to all United Nations and associated personnel deployed on all United Nations operations.
