٧ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يكفل رصد منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة عن كثب لمصادر التمويل الفعلية والمحتملة اللازمة لدعم جهود البلدان النامية والبلدان التي تمر اقتصاداتها بمرحلة انتقالية الرامية إلى معالجة مشكلة " عام ٢٠٠٠ " ، وأن يسهل موافاة الدول اﻷعضاء بالمعلومات ذات الصلة عن إمكانيات التمويل هذه؛

In paragraph 7 of that resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to ensure that the United Nations system closely monitors actual and potential sources of funding to support efforts of the developing countries and countries in transition to address the year 2000 problem and to facilitate the dissemination of relevant information on those funding possibilities to the Member States.

The Goals also underline, in goal eight, the shared responsibilities of developing countries, and countries with economies in transition, to pursue poverty reduction and good governance, and of developed countries to support the efforts of developing countries and countries with economies in transition by increasing aid, opening trade to exports from developing countries and countries with economies in transition, and providing debt relief.
