I should like at the outset, on behalf of the Conference, to welcome the Under—Secretary for Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, who will be the first speaker this morning.
وأود بادئ ذي بدء أن أرحب بالنيابة عن المؤتمر بالأمين المساعد للشؤون القانونية والدولية لوزارة خارجية جمهورية إيران الإسلامية الدكتور محمد جواد ظريف الذي سيكون أول متحدث هذا الصباح.

Allow me to extend, through you, to the delegation of Iran our appreciation for the good work and effective and efficient manner in which your predecessor, Mr. Javad Zarif, conducted our affairs when we met last year.
وأود أن أعرب من خلالكم، عن التقدير لوفد إيران عن العمل الجيد والفعال والطريقة الكفؤة التي أدار بها سلفكم السيد جواد ظريف شؤوننا عندما اجتمعنا في السنة الماضية.

My delegation would also like to thank your predecessor, Mr. Javad Zarif, for the efforts he made in the year 2000 during the Commission's previous session. I also wish to thank the Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs, Mr. Dhanapala, for the statement he delivered yesterday.
كما نود أن نتقدم بالشكر إلى سلفكم السيد جواد ظريف لجهوده السابقة خلال دورة عام 2000 لهيئة نزع السلاح، وإلى السيد دانا بالا وكيل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لشؤون نزع السلاح للبيان الذي أدلى به أمس.
