The Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines is mandated to perform a number of services which are available to defenders and other individuals, including legal assistance, witness protection, financial assistance and medical assistance to victims of violations.

In the Philippines on 9 and 10 December 2005, for example, the Representative participated in a multi-stakeholder forum organized by the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines, which examined the situation of internal displacement in the Philippines and proposed a national plan of action.

(11) The Committee notes with appreciation the active role of a vibrant civil society and of the national human rights institution, the Commission on Human Rights in the Philippines, in providing extensive information to the Committee.
(11) وتشير اللجنة مع التقدير إلى الدور النشط الذي يضطلع به المجتمع المدني متَّقد، وكذلك المؤسسة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان، ولجنة حقوق الإنسان في الفلبين في تقديم معلوماتٍ وافية إلى اللجنة.

The Committee, recalling a recommendation of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights from December 2008 (E/C.12/PHL/CO/4, paragraph 13), recommends that the State party include the protection and promotion of economic, social and cultural rights in the mandate of the Commission on Human Rights in the Philippines.
وإذ تشير اللجنة إلى إحدى توصيات اللجنة المعنية بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية الصادرة في كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2008 (E/C.12/PHL/CO/4، الفقرة 13)، فإنها توصي الدولة الطرف بإدراج حماية الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية وتعزيزها في ولاية لجنة حقوق الإنسان في الفلبين.

The Philippine Human Rights Information Center (PHILRIGHTS) is a research and information institute of the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA).
